Hi Mollet, the honest picture is that most facilitation work does not come from open advertisements, it comes from being visible to the people who already hold the delivery contracts. Certification bodies, consultancies and training providers in your region all subcontract when they are stretched, so a short direct note telling them what you can deliver, your audit background and your availability tends to travel further than a job board. If you hold Exemplar Global certification, say so plainly, because many providers need that on file before they can put you in front of a class.

The other thing that opens doors is evidence you can actually hold a room. Co facilitating a session with someone experienced, running an internal awareness workshop, or delivering a short refresher for a consultancy all give you something concrete to point at. When I bring someone new into a course I run, that is the first thing I look at, whether they can explain a clause in plain language and stay steady with the questions that follow. Keep at it, the work is there for people who make themselves easy to find.

Mollett, I would suggest treating facilitation opportunities as a competence-building pathway, not only a job search.

A strong facilitator profile should demonstrate three things clearly: subject-matter competence, the ability to explain and engage learners, and evidence of effective delivery.

Even if a full ISO 9001 facilitation role is not immediately available, delivering short focused sessions, collecting structured learner feedback, and building a documented training portfolio can create credible evidence of your capability.

In my experience, this evidence often becomes more persuasive to training providers than qualifications alone.
