Earlier this year, I went down the rabbit hole towards finding free certifications that are highly recognized. Based on suggestions from this community, related to my final target of ISO 42001, I ended up finding the ISC2.org site. They have a free certification, the CC. Considering I have not tested in years and have no background in AI anything, I figured what do I have to lose? So, I created an account, completed all the modules and sat for the exam last weekend.
Honestly, it was far more difficult than I anticipated. However, I passed it.
Why am I sharing this?
Well, for a few reasons:
1) It did not cost me a dime to take the exam or get access to the modules for studying.
2) That is the first time I have sat for a test in many years since obtaining the 14001 about 12 years ago.
3) Although cybersecurity and AI Governance are not the exact same fields, I figured learning the vernacular was worth it.
4) Now that I have passed this exam, I feel very much more comfortable moving onto the 42001 ISO standard, especially considering this one will be self-taught as well.
Hence, for me, it was very much worth completing this. It has truly primed my brain to undergo the next goal.
I am curious if anybody else has used other programs to prepare themselves for the ultimate goal of AI Governance? If so, what was your strategy?
Thanks. BK
