    Hello everyone, I'm Julian Goh.

    I am the founder of Goh Business Practitioners (GBP) and a tourism and sustainability professional working from Malaysia, with a focus on hospitality sustainability, regional development, and responsible tourism across Asia.

    I joined this community through my interest in GHG emissions management and sustainability certifications, particularly ISO 14064, ISO 14067, and related ESG practices. I am passionate about helping hotels and tourism businesses improve their sustainability performance through practical frameworks, measurement, and continuous improvement.

    A fun fact about me: I started my journey in tourism as a guide, and I believe a professional guide should continue evolving - from sharing stories about destinations to helping businesses and communities create more meaningful and sustainable experiences.

    Hi GE Team, 

    I am still practising my guiding skills. I have found that maintaining and continuously improving these skills is even more effective now, especially because I often need to guide clients during site visits as part of my GHG emissions and CFP consulting work.  They see our forest and government initiatives to understand better. 

    Good guiding skills help me explain sustainability concepts, identify emission sources on-site, communicate improvement opportunities clearly, and engage clients more effectively throughout the assessment process. I think. I believe these skills complement my consulting work and add greater value to my clients.

    Welcome, Julian. The guiding point you make is not a side skill at all. Most of what an auditor or a verifier does on a site visit is exactly that, asking questions in plain language and getting someone to walk you through their own operation until you both understand where the numbers actually come from. People who can do that get far better information than people who arrive with a checklist and read from it.

    It matters even more in the greenhouse gas space, because so much of a verification turns on boundary and data trail rather than on any single figure. If a client can walk you around their site and point at their own emission sources with confidence, the inventory usually holds up. If they cannot, that tells you exactly where to look.
