One of the most significant quality management issues is the tendency toward endless data collection without meaningful analysis. Continuously gathering information that does not contribute to problem solving or decision making adds little to no value. Instead, data collection should be purposeful and focused limited to what is truly necessary for effective root-cause analysis.
